Battlefleet Gothic – Dark Eldar revamped

It has been a while since my last post for a multitude of reasons. One of which is a painting commission, that consumes my entire hobby time at this point. Thus I thought it would be a nice idea to put some pics of my repainted Dark Eldar fleet up.

This was the very first fleet I started with back in 2012, and amongst the first armies, I fully painted in my tabletop career. What a way I have come. Quite some time ago, I decided to repaint them, before handing them over to a buddy of mine. Before doing so though, I took a plethora of pics, yet never managed to write some blog posts. When GW released the new line of Dark Eldar models in 2013 (?), the older models and the Dark Eldar fleet did not match the colour scheme any longer. Hence I decided to utilize a similar colour scheme and polish up the spiky space pirated once more.

To start this series, let’s take a look at the mainstay of the pirate fleets, the corsair escorts. My favorite war gear is the impaler module. Super potent versus escorts and not minor deadly versus larger vessels, these long boarding crafts are short ranged but potent. Once the impaler breaks down, the few remaining weapon batteries, along with the vessels enormous speed and maneuverability leave you with a still versatile ship to bring pain the the minor races.
